Sod Type: RTF Drought Tolerant Blend
Here is some before and after shots of our RTF drought resistant grass being installed in a customers front yard in Corte Madera.
Soil: Rhizomatous tall fescue (RTF), is a new generation of tall fescue, which unlike other tall fescues produces rhizomes. The rhizome sends a shoot up to the soil surface while extending new roots downward, forming new plant growth. This unique rhizomatous growth habit produces high tensile strength, fast establishment of turf and rapid recovery.
RTF turf has excellent wear tolerance, similar to perennial ryegrass. It is shade, salt and frost tolerant and will withstand both waterlogging and drought conditions. It has consistent and excellent colour throughout the summer and is suitable for most soil types.
About Corte Madera: Corte Madera is tucked away in the green Marin countryside. Incorporated in 1916, the Town extends from San Francisco Bay on the east side of Highway 101 to Mt. Tamalpais on the west. Corte Madera occupies an area of four square miles of land, plus surrounding water tidelands. This small vital town of nearly 9,425 residents, located 12 miles north of San Francisco, is generally alight with sunshine that peeks through fog shrouded Mt. Tamalpais. It is within hiking, biking and driving distance of some of the most beautiful vistas in the western United States.
The Town reflects the easy, outdoor lifestyle long associated with California, with open space, and parks in every direction; which makes our RTF sod the perfect choice. In Corte Madera you will find a magical blend of contrasts, from its rural, sprawling hillsides and bordering waterways to its cosmopolitan, fashionable homes and businesses.
